Let’s zoom in: Spot on ZADIK:

Exhibition motif 30 years of ZADIK – Highlights and Insights
(Art) (hi)stories revolving around exhibits from the archival holdings of ZADIK become visible In the exhibition: from Picasso's "La Vie", which was traded through the Galerie Thannhauser and provides insights into the provenance of the work, through the developments in the postwar period revolving around Informal Art, the movement of ZERO toward Concrete Art, Fluxus and happenings to the questions of how Pop Art came to Germany. And how have the 1980s/90s been recorded in ZADIK? In the anniversary year, ZADIK focuses on its history, the contexts for art and diversity in the art market.
Taking the interdisciplinary research and education project "Women in the Art Market" initiated in 2020, the focus in 2022 is on gallery owners, art dealers, art critics, photographers, art historians and collectors. They all influence the writing of art history to the present day. Both in a thematic section of the ZADIK special event at ART COLOGNE and at the "Women in the Art Market" – Sustainably anchoring female empowerment podium, organised together with koelnmesse in the Europe Hall on 19.11.2022, the focus was shifted to the actors of the 20th and 21st centuries.
The special event will actively involve visitors: the many different memories of the events and persons shown in the exhibition can be addressed in an oral history point. Such eyewitness memories are valuable supplementary sources in the archive, which often close existing gaps or enrich aspects from sometimes very personal perspectives with valuable facets. ZADIK is very much looking forward to all the memories that will then find their way into the archive as oral history documentation.
A Digital Guide is available for the exhibition that contains further information for visitors and can be called up with the Freshmuseum app on one's own smartphone before, during and after a visit to the exhibition.
