ART COLOGNE presents the updated exhibitor list for November 18 - 22, 2020

Two preview days and other measures for a safe art fair in special times

All tickets for the trade fair are only available online

The updated exhibitor list for the 54th edition of ART COLOGNE, which has been rescheduled to 18 to 22 November 2020 this year, encompasses 151 galleries from 25 countries and thus offers a broad field of participants oriented to quality and diversity. Ten renowned new exhibitors round off the final list. These include Art:Concept, Paris, Campoli Presti, London/Paris, Carlier Gebauer, Berlin, ChertLüdde, Berlin, Emanuel Layr, Vienna, Luxembourg + Co, London/New York, Mayoral, Barcelona, neugerriemschneider, Berlin, Plan-B, Berlin/Cluj, as well as Thomas Schulte, Berlin. Around 25 galleries from the exhibitor list of April 2020 have withdrawn their participation. With a large number of measures, extending from the sequence of days through online admission ticket purchase to general rules for gathering at the art fair, ART COLOGNE 2020 will be a safe art fair, and an inspiring and successful one for visitors and exhibitors. In addition to the exhibitor list, one of the most important pieces of information in advance is that the admission tickets for the art fair are only available online and only with complete registration. There will be no sale of admission tickets on site. In order to avoid exceeding the permitted number of visitors in the halls and to create optimal conditions for the purchase of art, the preview for invited guests will also be extended to two days (18 and 19 November). ART COLOGNE will then be open to the public from 20 to 22 November 2020. Time slots for visits are not planned.

ART COLOGNE will also present itself this November on two levels of hall 11. Due to corona, the distances between the galleries and the corridor widths have been adjusted to be generous and airy. The formation of groups of visitors is thus avoided. In addition to this, the art shown has more space, which means a new and exciting art experience for exhibitors and visitors at ART COLOGNE.

One once again finds galleries on the lower hall level 11.1 that belong to the GALLERIES – MODERN & POST WAR exhibition sector. These include, for example, Thomas, Munich, which has in fact participated in every ART COLOGNE since its founding, Thomas Salis, Salzburg, which is exhibiting together with Dierking, Zurich, Schlichtenmeier, Grafenau/Stuttgart, Henze & Ketterer & Triebold, Riehen|Basel/Wichtrach|Bern, Ludorff, Düsseldorf, Von Vertes, Zurich, Konzett, Vienna and Lahumière, Paris.

The GALLERIES - CONTEMPORARY ART sector is positioned exceptionally well with top addresses like Gisela Capitain, Cologne, Karsten Greve, Cologne/Paris/St. Moritz, Simon Lee, London/Hong Kong/ New York, Hans Mayer, Düsseldorf, nächst St. Stephan, Vienna, Thaddaeus Ropac, Salzburg/Paris/London, Esther Schipper, Berlin, Sprüth Magers, Berlin/London/Los Angeles and David Zwirner, New York/London/Hong Kong/Paris.

NEUMARKT, the sector for young galleries less than ten years old, presents itself with an exciting programme, including from galleries like Arcadia Missa, London, Blank Projects, Cape Town, Drei, Cologne, Jan Kaps, Cologne, Max Mayer, Düsseldorf, Tobias Naehring, Leipzig, Nir Altman, Munich, Deborah Schamoni, Munich, as well as Tanja Wagner from Berlin.

The COLLABORATIONS sector has a special position within ART COLOGNE. It concentrates on the theme of cooperation, whether between galleries or between artists. Exciting COLLABORATIONS projects have arisen for this year's November edition of ART COLOGNE. These include Guido W. Baudach, Berlin, and Meyer Riegger, Karlsruhe/Berlin, but also, for example, Continua, San Gimignano/Beijing/les Moulins/Havana, and Zahorian & van Espen, Bratislava, or Martin van Zomeren, Amsterdam, and Stigter van Doesburg, Amsterdam, as well as Daniel Marzona, Berlin, and Sexauer, Berlin.

Sixteen galleries are also presenting young artists from their portfolios with the sponsorship programme NEW POSITIONS. Financial support is provided for this measure by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Bundesverband Deutscher Galerien und Kunsthändler (German association of galleries and art dealers) and Koelnmesse.

COLOGNE FINE ART & DESIGN takes place parallel with ART COLOGNE. It is located in hall 3 and is thus directly connected with ART COLOGNE.

A safe art fair visit in times of corona

Special times require special measures. In compliance with the provisions of the corona protective ordinance of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and in close coordination with the authorities in Cologne, measures have been developed that will interlock seamlessly and will govern the interaction among all people present at the art fair.

These include:

- Tickets: only online admission tickets following prior registration in the Ticket Shop with name, address and contact possibility for each art fair visitor. This applies without exception to all trade fair tickets. No on-site sales!!
- The preview for invited guests takes place on 18 and 19 November 2020, thus on two days.
- The public days are from Friday, 20 to Sunday, 22 November 2020

- The new hall planning enables the observance of a safety distance of at least 1.50 m.
- There is an obligation to wear a mask at the art fair with the exception of the seats at the art fair stands and in the food service areas.

Additional measures on the fair grounds:

- Continuous air replacement, meaning that fresh air is supplied from outside and used air is removed from the halls. There is no circulation of the hall air.
- Disinfectant dispensers at all significant locations on the grounds. Surfaces outside of the stand areas that are regularly touched (e.g. counters, tables, handrails) will be cleaned more intensively.
- We will provide a mask to art fair participants who don't have their own with them.
- The sanitation facilities are cleaned at close intervals. Possibilities for washing hands and disinfection with adequate distancing are ensured.
- Contact-free routes through the grounds: all door systems except for fire control doors will remain permanently open in order to reduce contact with surfaces.
