COLLABORATIONS. How today’s artists are developing new strategies
Farewell to the ivory tower: in times of artistic overproduction, the old principle of art for art’s sake has reached its limits. Artists are no longer free to work entirely for themselves – instead, they receive commissions and are challenged by new business models. Whether as creative forces in companies, as providers of a social service in municipalities or other collective bodies, or as artistic or critical designers of everyday functions: how do today’s artists make themselves “useful”? What directions are new collaborations taking?
